Aon Strengthens EMEA Transportation and Logistics Team with Strategic Senior Appointments

Aon, the global leader in insurance and reinsurance broking, has made significant strides in enhancing its EMEA Transportation and Logistics team by announcing three pivotal senior appointments.

Jan Steven Kelder has been appointed as the Industry Specialty Leader for Transportation and Logistics in the EMEA region. Reporting directly to Luca Tassarotti, Head of Commercial Risk for EMEA, and Lee Meyrick, Global Specialty Leader for Transportation and Logistics, Kelder brings nearly 13 years of experience with Aon, having started his career as a Senior Broker Marine in 2011. His most recent position was as the Specialty Practice Leader for Transportation & Logistics across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Lee Meyrick expressed his excitement regarding Kelder’s new role, emphasizing, “Over the past 12 years, Jan Steven has made a significant contribution to Aon Global Marine and Asia Pacific. His leadership, technical expertise, and strong relationships with clients and carriers will be invaluable to the EMEA region.”

In addition, Rutger Van der Hoeven has been appointed as the Head of Growth for Transportation and Logistics and Head of Commodity Trade for EMEA. He will report to Kelder and Jochem Kort, Chief Broking Officer for Aon in the Netherlands. Van der Hoeven has been with Aon for over eight years, currently leading the Marine and Specialty teams in the Netherlands, where he will continue to oversee these critical areas.

Furthermore, Tomas Winje has been named as the Head of Cargo & Logistics for EMEA, also reporting to Kelder. Winje previously served as a Client Partner at Aon for nearly three years and has a decade of experience at AIG, where he was the Head of Marine for the Nordics.

Tassarotti remarked, “The career progression of these colleagues reflects our confidence in their capabilities and Aon’s ambitions for this priority industry segment.” These strategic appointments are set to bolster Aon’s presence and expertise in the Transportation and Logistics sector across the EMEA region.
