Cincinnati's Christkindlmarkt: A Festive Celebration of German Culture and Holiday Cheer
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Germania Society proudly presents its annual Christkindlmarkt, returning to the enchanting Germania Park in Colerain Township from Friday to Sunday. This beloved event aims to spread the joyous spirit of Christmas by recreating the charm of Germany’s traditional Christmas markets.
Families can look forward to a delightful children’s lantern parade on Saturday evening, along with face painting activities on Sunday. Attendees can also enjoy free carriage rides and visit a petting zoo, making it a perfect outing for children and families alike.
The Christkindlmarkt will feature an array of authentic German and seasonal items, all imported directly from Germany. Shoppers can find unique treasures such as Bier Steins, Cuckoo Clocks, Nutcrackers, Schwibbogen, and much more.
Food lovers will be in for a treat with a selection of delicious German cuisine and beverages, including Glühwein (hot mulled wine). Local crafters will also showcase their handmade items for sale at the heated tents, ensuring a warm and festive atmosphere.
Admission is free for children aged 12 and under.
Shuttle buses will operate on Friday and Saturday only, departing from Mueller Roofing, located at 11865 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
