David Parrott Appointed to Transportation Industry Council at St. Louis Fed
ST. LOUIS — David Parrott, who serves as the vice president of finance for UPS Airlines based in Louisville, Kentucky, has officially been appointed to the Transportation Industry Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
Established in 2006, the St. Louis Fed created four District Industry Councils aimed at gathering crucial insights regarding economic conditions across significant sectors within the Eighth District. The observations made by council members, combined with the economic data compiled in the Federal Reserve Board's Beige Book and the discussions held during meetings of the Reserve Bank’s board of directors, play a vital role in ensuring that the economic realities of Main Street America are adequately reflected in monetary policy decisions made in Washington.
Each of these councils is supported by one of the St. Louis Fed’s four regional offices: St. Louis focuses on real estate; Little Rock, Arkansas, specializes in agribusiness; Louisville, Kentucky, addresses health care; and Memphis, Tennessee, concentrates on transportation. The councils convene biannually to discuss and analyze industry trends and challenges.
